YMRF is a Fell Runners Association affiliated event.
Fell running has a relaxed low-key atmosphere where friendships are easy to make on the hills that are there to be enjoyed. There’s something for just about everybody, whether it is the thrill at the sharp end, the pleasure of taking exercise amongst the hills, or the solitude of the lone long distance runner.
The FRA was formed in 1970 to cater for the needs of fell runners. The Association (which is affiliated to UK Athletics) was the first and is still the biggest athletics body which looks after fell runners’ interests. We recommend you join the FRA to become part of this fantastic community.

The Jack Bloor Fund was established in 1985 to commemorate the life of Jack Bloor. Jack is a Yorkshire legend. He was a pioneering fell runner and climber who also orienteered, caved and cycled. As well as being an accomplished athlete in his own right, Jack was a former chairman of the Yorkshire BMC, helped start the Three Peaks Fell Race (which he won 1956) and coached world class orienteers. All monies from the Jack Bloor Races go to the Jack Bloor Memorial Fund, which awards grants to young sportspeople from Yorkshire who want to improve their physical and/or technical skills in any recognised outdoor adventure sport.
The OMM
The UK’s biggest mountain race has shaped the UK outdoor community for 50 years. Since 1968 the UK’s greatest running legends, product creators & influential people have stood on the start line. The OMM ‘s ethos of taking responsibility for your actions in our wild spaces continues to be passed down the generations.

The Saunders Lakeland Mountain Marathon (SLMM) is a two-day mountain navigation competition (or race) that is held annually in the Lake District for pairs and experienced solo entrants. The Saunders Lakeland Mountain Marathon is organised by Lakeland Events Community Interest Company. Any surplus generated by the event will be distributed to registered charities that support access to the mountain environment and the well-being of our competitors.
